East Vail Experience

Ask any local about what to do and where to go in Vail, and they immediately point you to East Vail.

Hiking & Trail Running

East Vail hikes are for all types of trailblazers. Hiking is a great way to explore and discover the region's flora, fauna and wildlife. Gore Creek Trail, Bighorn Trail, Pitkin Trail and Booth Creek Waterfall Trail are by far the most beautiful hiking trails in the Vail Valley - and are all within 2 miles of Vail Racquet Club Mountain Resort.

Cycling Vail Pass

Literally walk out the door and you are on one of the best road bike routes in the country. Free of motor vehicles makes the ride up Vail Pass especially inviting. You can ride 35 miles on this trail all the way to Breckenridge while taking in stunnig views and pushing your fitness to the limit.

Or let the guides give you a lift to the top and you can enjoy the ride down!

Kayak

If paddling is your passion, we have plenty to keep you coming back. Intense early spring run off gives way to a gentle flow which is great for beginners. You'll often see tubers as well during the warmest days of summer.

Golf

Highlighted by views of the Gore Mountain Range, Vail’s mountain-style, 18-hole course features unique fairways, smooth putting surfaces and a scenic layout amidst the White River National Forest. Recognized by Golf Digest as a "Top 100 Resort Course," golfers enjoy watching their balls fly 10 percent farther in Vail’s high altitude environment, while they challenge themselves on greens that follow the Gore Creek and lay adjacent to the White River National Forest.

Fishing

Fly fishing is wonderful year-round especially in the gold-medal pockets of Gore Creek beginning in East Vail. Bring your gear, or hire a guide to show you the secret stashes and most productive flies.

Bighorn Park & Playground

Kids love Bighorn Park which is just a short walk from the Resort. You get to enjoy the beautiful pond, where you will see kids playing and dogs swimming. There also is a state-of-the-art playground for the children.

Snowshoeing

If you love to hike or trail run in the summer then you'll love snowshoeing in the winter. Snowshoeing is a great way to explore the backcountry, take in great views and get a great workout. Take a group of friends or the whole family, either way you are in for a spectacular day in the mountains.

Ice Climbing

Ice climbing is certainly not for the faint of heart. But you often see these fearless souls in the frozen waterfalls of East Vail. If this is your sport, there's a community of ice climbers ready to show you the ropes.

Nordic Skiing

The Vail Nordic Center offers 17 kilometers of groomed ski trails and 10 kilometers of separate snowshoe trails. You can pick up the course just 2 miles west of Vail Racquet Club Mountain Resort at the Vail Golf Course. All trails from the beginning to the advanced have stunning views of the beautiful Gore Range. A free town bus runs regularly from the resort or take advantage of free parking to customers using the trails.

Extreme Skiing & Riding

In addition to Vail Mountain, White River National Forest is our backyard. The infamous Vail Chutes are across the street from Vail Racquet Club Mountain Resort. We definately do not recommend venturing off trail unless with a highly qualified guide. Check out Vail Powder Guides Vail Pass snowcat operation for apline runs.
